While we treat children for a variety of ENT conditions, some of the most common services we offer are:
- Tonsillectomy: This is one of the most common types of surgery for children. Tonsillectomies (tonsil removal) are used for children who have enlarged tonsils, or have chronic infections such as strep throat or tonsillitis. We evaluate each child’s condition before recommending a tonsillectomy, and we take the time to help parents understand the pros and cons of having the tonsils removed. Since this is often the first surgery a child will have, it’s important that the parents have a full understanding of the procedure and are aware of the benefits.
- Bilateral Myringotomy & Tubes (BMT): Children with hearing disorders or eustachian tube dysfunctions can experience ear infections or hearing loss as a result of damage to or around the ear drum. We offer several treatment options depending on the type of hearing issue the child is experiencing including medication or surgery.
- Hearing tests: It is important to get hearing tests done for newborns and children. Diagnosing hearing problems in children as early as possible will help prevent problems in their speech development. Early detection will allow us to begin treatments to restore their hearing, and make sure their school can make the appropriate accommodations to help them succeed.
Our doctor has experience working with children and are very understanding of the needs of younger patients. We want our patients to feel comfortable and and confident that they are getting the best treatment available.
